Shio meets a new friend walking around Chelsea Piers… Video taken with Lumix GF1, 14-45mm.
Monthly Archives: January 2010

Shio was the recipient of a much needed bath on Saturday afternoon and we left his fur to air dry. He fell asleep on his side on our new rug and woke up with a crimped fur-do that we haven’t been able to straighten out.
Haha! Shio, you are so cute! The photos, videos, and stories are great! M.
Thanks!!!
Looks like he accumulated some stripes!
Funny… That’s happened to my Loki before. After a bath, he slept in his wire crate and had crate marks in his fur.
Yes! We saw that on your blog!

With the return of the SF Shiba puppy cam (http://www.ustream.tv/sfshiba), we have people ask us why we picked a Shiba. Here’s what happened: Originally, Josh wanted a lab/golden retriever while I wanted a Yorkie. Instead of an obedient and goofy or cute and cuddly lap dog, we wound up with a stubborn and independent Shiba….
i seee. my orchestra teach. has a Yorkie
I only started reading shiba blogs after we got one, but I wish I had read them before we got babes. Youre statement it SO right, do your research. We already had a dog a 1 year old lhasa apso, a cute little furball and one day my mom and sister went into a pet shop to get Boo some toys. That was when they saw Babes- a gorgeous black and tan 7 week old shiba inu, my mom fell in love and bought her within 10 minuets. We were NOT prepared for life with a shiba inu- I had never even heard of the breed. The first 6 months with her she broke our spirit but now Babes is my absolute best friend in the entire world, the love that I have for this dog is incredible. I dont think I will ever get another breed. So, while sometimes I wish I had seen a blog like yours before we got her, Im happy I didnt because Im not sure if we would have gotten her had we read up on the interesting breed of shiba, and I cant imagine my life without her! Youre blog is funny and really informative and there are soo many stories I can relate too! And shio is a very handsome shiba!! Keep up the good work!
Thank you for this comment – means a lot to us! We were lucky enough to come across Shiba blogs as we were doing our research for our own dog so we had decided to start one for Shio in case there were other people who were curious about these guys. They are so devilish but incredibly amazing as well!
