Wow!! Is this an off-leash dog park? Is it fenced? Looks AMAZING!
Central Park allows dogs to be off-leash up till 9 a.m. — dogs rule the park in the morning and are allowed to run free! They are so different and happy when they can explore and be real dogs.

I bring Shio everywhere with me when traveling around Manhattan. This is so wonderful to hear! San Francisco is very tolerant of dogs and frankly, while many food establishments post “no dogs allowed” if you enter with your dog to pick up something no one says anything. I see dogs (non-service) at the coffee shop, the farmers market, the grocery. I think SF dog-owners just keep pushing the limits in hopes of changing the rules some day.
HOW did you get Shio use to escalators? We never took Zuko on one during the socialization stage and when he was about 9 mths we took him on one. He melted down after we got off it. He stopped, dropped his tail a bit and just stood there shaking like a leaf. 
I felt horrible.
That is so awesome! I wondered about that after the Sephora video. I wish Romeo had been with me in NYC! People love dogs in Arkansas but you don’t see them in stores. At my salon, we always tell people to bring their dogs inside when they walk by because we all love dogs so much! But people are so hesitant to bring them in! Its funny! I love that Shio gets to go all over the city! They are such good buddies!
Keep pushing those limits away and we’ll do the same on the East coast!
The first time we went on an escalator ride, Shio just stepped onto it without being fussy so I treated it as if it weren’t a big deal as we rode up. When we neared the end, I said, “Jump”, and he hopped off the escalator. After moving out of the way, I gave him a treat and told him he did a good job. Frankly, I was more nervous than he was!!!
Many of the smaller boutiques and hair salons out here have their pets with them in the stores. Maybe you should have Romeo in your salon to keep you and your clients company all day!
omg Shio acts so well. Why can’t Lucas be like that.
Forgot to add: We sometimes we got to hold him. He so energetic!
Shio is a model city dog! Do you ever take him on the subway?
Ting and I take Shio on the subway to go to Central Park sometimes. Also, he rides the LIRR with no problems whatsoever.

I think I was the prey. I stood there, looking up, hoping he wouldn’t take the 8 ft leap off the hill. If he did, I would’ve thrown my iPhone onto the ground and caught him!

Took a 3 hour walk this morning and stopped in Sephora to check out the makeup with Shio. Shio discovers a scent that he likes and promptly starts rubbing his face all over the floor of Sephora for a full minute. Of course, he was over in the female’s perfume section and not the men’s…

BTW – Zuko has shared this with all his twitter friends and I’ve shown this to every dog person I know. Just the funniest thing ever. I still come back and watch it now and then and want to take Zuko to Sephora to see what happens!

You..were…able…to…get…clothes..on…a…SHIBA?? My goodness, you would think the world has ended when I try to put stuff on Zuko! He freezes and just stands there. I tried sunglasses too – nope. He kept walking away and giving me that disgusted Shiba look.
