“Hey ma… while you’re cuttin’ up that chicken, don’t forget about me kthanx.”

I was making the cooking up some chicken stock using a recipe from the Barefoot Contessa’s website and Shio insisted on being omgrightnexttome as I was cutting up the chicken. And yes, of course I gave him a piece! Don’t you see the “suckaaaa” written across my forehead?!

Love these pics especially the action shot in the middle. The first one is sort of poignant–Shio at sunset–hope he got some treats from that dinner!

What beach do you take Shio to? We are looking for a spot for our Shiba too.

Aloha,

We have a 7 week old Shiba (Koji) – My last doggie was a Jindo and I think they have a lot of similarities…(Cat like, dignified goofballs, stubborn, smart)

Our Shiba throws temper tantrums (screams) and of course I heard about this, did you experience that? They grow out of it? I’m an experienced dog owner, just a long time since I had a puppy…We will be going to puppy socials when has shots, and have him meeting all kinds of people, just at night, maybe he’s tired and mean mommy wants him to stop chewing on the wall and all hell breaks loose… :)

Any words of encouragement??? ha!

Mahalos, love your blog…
Koji’s mom….

There are beaches in Atlantic City and Fire Island that you can go to without getting ticketed!

Yes! We have a friend who has a Jindo and oh-my-gosh he was just as determined as a Shiba.

Haha – Shio screamed a handful of times when he was a puppy and it was awful. He definitely grew out of the screaming but still has temper tantrums. Here are some of our posts about the Shiba scream: http://www.shiotheshiba.com/blog/tag/shiba-scream/

Good luck with Koji and take lots of pictures while he’s still little!

Oh we must live near each other then! Shio does look familiar! There’s been so many Shibas in the neighborhood. I live in the West Village so I’m very close to the Hudson River Park. Sumo and Kicho loves it there. Once in awhile, we’ll go to Central Park too during their off leash hours. :-)

Shio is still shedding!

From this morning: If I could ask Shio just two questions at this moment (assuming that he was able to respond) they would be: 1. Where the eff does all this fur come from?! and 2. How are you not bald?!!?

my question is… how do you clean up after this? a vacuum cleaner?

Our Dyson DC25 is my bestestest friend during shedding season. And by shedding season I mean all year round. :)

That’s right! LOL

He’s quite talented in that department!

Yes!!!!

OMGoodness. I thought our two shibas were shedding bad. It’s never ending huh? I swear I could vacuum and swiffer the floors squeaky clean and then a few hours later, it’s already covered. Where the heck does it all come from? I heard from other pet owners too that the Dyson is amazing but it’s soooo expensive! I haven’t gotten around to buying it yet but I hear it’s worth every penny.
