Well, I don’t. Did someone forget to tell you that I’m a Shiba? I always get my way. Loves, Shio

Now that he’s gotten on the bed to sleep with us… he won’t get off! And who are we to kick him off his new comfy sleeping spot? :)
Soft light, softer bed
Now knows what he’s been missing
Sleeps here from now on !
Romeo loves our bed! He always sleeps there during the day and starts there at night but ends up in his own dog bed by morning! Shio and Romeo look so much alike all snuggled in their parents bed!
awww. i’m so jealous! Niko won’t go in the bed. someday. i can only hope
At last, Shio likes a bed–not his bed–but a bed! M.
We have given into our Maggie too far! She occupies our couch like her own bed now, but we promised each other we’ll never let her sleep in our bed.
Yeah – we started off saying no dog on the bed. We didn’t let the cats sleep there because we both have allergies to cats and we didn’t want to be “not fair”. The cats had good long lives and both went over the rainbow bridge soon after Zuko showed up. Now we don’t have a bed. Zuko has a king size bed that he hogs all night long.
pita is my little bedbug. she she sleeps on or next to me at night its really cute. we both move around to get more comfortable. she can be quite annoying tho as she likes to cripple me.

Let’s start with the “Ouches” part of this post. We know a crazy little terrier that lives near us who has been picking on Shio since he was 4 months old. When they see each other, things will go great for about 5 seconds and then the little terrier will lunge for Shio and a…
Oh no!
It’s good that Shio has someone great to teach him right from wrong! It looks like the terrier should have someone who does the same for him
Poor pooch.
Get well soon, Shio’s mom!
-Shiba kisses from Kyuubi
Dude. Hope you’re okay!
Wow – so what did the owner of the terrier have to say about the fact that his/her dog bit a human and attacked another dog? Here in SF there would probably be a police report whether or not you asked for it. It is too sensitive of an issue these days.
And Shio… adorable that he’s guarding you. That is just so awesome. Zuko just got hugs (he hates them) for being my little guy. I have no doubt he’d take care of me if I needed it.
Was the terrier off-leash?
Oh Ting, I am so sorry that you and Shio have had to put up with this terrier. I hope you recover easily. It’s very sweet of Shio to sleep with you (in a bed! and we know how he hates beds!) and to guard you, but I wish the terrier would move away! Hope you heal quickly. Love you, Shio. M.
aww, the “loves” portion of this story is really touching.
That’s really sweet how Shio sensed you needed tlc, especially since he never goes into your bed.
–Off to hug my pup Niko!
Thanks for the well wishes everyone!
The owner is sincerely apologetic and has always made the effort to keep the two of them apart when we bump into each other. I don’t wish that they would move away as much as I wish that we could figure out why the little guy hates Shio! Then we could work on solving the issue and we could all be happy friends.
Shio is my little hero in so many ways.
I on the other hand would have filed a report given the dog’s history of attacking people.
Owners and dogs like that give all of us a bad name.
I have to agree with JML. It isn’t the dog’s fault, it is the owners fault. The owner would be smart to invest in a trainer to help before things get out of hand and someone marks the dog as vicious and dangerous.
I mentioned this story to a friend here in the bay area and she was saying the hospitals here have to report dog bites to the humane society no matter what. We’d have a rash of really bad attacks in the bay area (a 2 year old killed, several people mauled) this summer and this kinds of things hurt all of us.
That is terrible! I hate that happened to your arm! Shio is so sweet to stay by you and sleep with you. I love those rare shiba moments when they aren’t so independent! Wish our shibas could be play mates!
i hope someday our shiba will show us that side of him (the protective side). that is so sweet.
feel better. Lucas did the same thing when i was sickkk! <3
Hi, possibly i’m being slightly off topic here, but i was browsing your site and it’s stimulating. I’m writing a blog and attempting to make it look neat, however everytime I bit it I mess something up. Did you design the blog yourself?
I used a pre-designed template that allows you to customize the look. The information is at the bottom of the site.
he must have been sooo fluffy in winter!
Shedding haiku 2:
Galaxy of fur
Circles the dark ottoman
Shio went nova!
i just found this japanese site (http://www.mylittledog.net/my_little_dog.html). you send them shiba fur, and they make you a shiba figurine with it…
example: http://www.mylittledog.net/aludog/alu6/elle/elle2.html
shio can have a mini-me shio!
LOL! At least, not in THAT direction! Shibas…Luckily we don’t have this issue with Zuko but he has his “other” moments.
This is such familiar view for us, too. I try not to laugh but the squished face is so funny that sometimes, I can’t help it.
Shio cracks me up!! Romeo never turns down a walk! But I do have to catch him to put his collar on because he gets so excited/nervous about the walk that he will run upstairs. Shiba’s are so weird sometimes. But I can’t help but love them so much!
@Julee – Zuko does that too! We thought he was avoiding the leash but he is actually excited. Once in awhile he’ll run into the back room and bark and goes into the play bow and bounces all over the place. Once we catch up with him, it is no trouble getting the leash on him. Weirdo.
haha
Shio, what a stubborn look you are giving! That’s so funny.
OMG, I know this look. I have many similar pictures in my own galleries…
And then there’s that one comic that I don’t have a link to at the moment…
oh pita does this to me too. excep she plants her little butt down and wont move again until i stop and pet her..
Haha – I knew all our Shiba owning friends could relate to this post! We call this “The Neck-face”
Dawww! That’s suchhh a cute face! >.<
Oh dear~
I know I shouldn’t laugh… but I am. That spread-eagle head-down stance is just hilarious!
Could be a protest … could be a play-bow …
Maybe he’s dowsing for water !
Ha. Wow. Shio has mad skills on non-violent demonstration.
Seriously I don’t think I have ever seen something so funny!! Romeo just loves walks so much I can’t imagine him doing that. Does he want to go another way or go back insde?! Too funny!
pita has started going thsi right around the corner from our house. she stops and sits. i ahve to go over and pet her and then she walks again…silly shibas.
she did actually lie down this morning and refused to get up.
will you be at the brooklyn meetup this weekend?
