yep. had this problem again this week. just tweeted about it (@_tar0_):
woman @ dog park saw me & said “oh, a SHIBU! right?” my human said, “yes, he’s a Shiba.” and the woman said “Shiba, Shiba EEENYYUUU.” huff.
well close enough. my inus have been called “meebu minus” by a groomer who didn’t know what they were.
Some guy we came across on our walk said, “Shamu, right?” and then
another lady called her ”Shibu ibu”. LOL
lol, most people we run into don’t know what a shiba is in the first place. They call our Kumo a little fox. Then he gets called “shibumumu,” “shibu,” “shi-wha?” Or they mistake him for a COMPLETELY different dog. Like a Basenji.. But almost never an akita, which would at least be CLOSE. haha
