OK, so these are more like Shibamas photos, but whatever… We wanted to take pictures before taking the tree down, ok? Photos taken with Nikon D700, 24mm f/1.4G, 50mm f/1.4G, and SB900. Processed with VSCO.

The weather has been unusually mild in NY this winter. While the city was buried in snow this time last year, we were actually able to bring the pups to the beach today. Emi is increasingly showing her athletic side. She loves playing fetch. Unlike Shio (and other Shibas), she will bring the ball back…

Happy Birthday to our Shio! I can’t believe that he’s already 3 years old! Time flies when you’re busy getting owned by a Shiba. Shio and Emi a huge bone to celebrate Shio’s birthday. And by huge, we mean bigger-than-Shio huge! In honor of Emi’s Gotcha Day and Shio’s Birthday, we previously held a small blog post…
Oh my gawd! Who’s been smuggling mammoth bones out of the Arctic? ;D Have a very happy birthday, Shio! You’re such a gentleman, sharing with Emi with no snarly-face.
That’s great news about the donations to NYCSR, both from you and your readers. You guys rock! Happy holidays to all.
You are AWESOME.
How great that Shio and Emi had a wonderful celebration and you guys and your friends helped rescue at the same time. Awesome, awesome!
that bone is ginormous! they share so nicely
gorgeous photos, as always
you’ve got yourself next year’s holiday card in this set.
Thank you!!
Such a plushhhh couple.
It took a lot of effort to focus the pups just for a few pics! Emi is not yet used to being a supermodel.
In the third picture Emi looks like she’s singing! Maybe a high note from Bach’s Christmas Oratorio. They’re both so cute together.
wow, I just discovered your blog and I love it! I’m from Norway, and this summer me and my boyfriend are welcoming our first Shiba(and dog) to our home! I can’t wait!! I love your pictures, keep posting them!
Btw, are your red Shiba bigger than your black and tan because of gender? I haven’t read much of your blog yet, just looked at all the pretty pics
@Tina – No it’s because Shio is big for the breed and Emi is a bit small. Good luck with your Shiba — they will bring much joy to you and your boyfriend!
