What is the favorite thing about your dog?

The other day Josh asked me what mine was about Shio. I had to sit and think about the answer for moment. There are so many things that I love such as his stinky paws, shoving my face into his warm fur when I’m hugging him, the little turns that he does just before he…

I like how Betsy is a tough girl. Even if she got hurt, say, by stepping on something sharp, she doesn’t cry. I also like how Betsy is very smart. She learns things a lot faster than Kit does. This is why Betsy is the “smart one” and Kit is the “special one”.

I like how Kit communicates very clearly. He may not be the smartest but he will let you know what he wants. Like, “Get out of bed and feed me” or “Pat my belly. Like now” or “I’m tugging because I really really need to poo in THAT spot over there”.

Come to think of it, Betsy does that too. But she is more polite about it. Like, one time, at a cabin trip, she had no bed to sleep in. She walked over in the dark while everyone was asleep and very quietly “woofed” at my face as if to say, “Psst~ Are you awake? I have no place to sleep.” All the while making sure she didn’t wake the whole house up.

My favorite thing about both dogs are their ears. And that super soft dimple part right above their paws.

My favorite thing about Zuko is he makes me laugh every day. He doesn’t hold back on anything, he is 100% who he is. He is a quirky, difficult, stubborn, always-hungry, adorable, smart furball. In other words: He Is Shiba. We love him.

fun post!

i could go on and on about my dogs, but I guess in short:
tsuki – like shio, she’s brutally honest
kit – he appreciates food like i do
buckley – he embodies unconditional love
kiba – he is the best cuddler

I think what I appreciate the most about Kaiju is the fact that he has maintained the sweetness despite all the scary things he’s gone through (and we put him through) so far. He tries to do what we want him to do as much as he can handle, and he has no problem with us cuddling with him.

I also like that he is so expressive when he is happy. It feels like the whole world shines when he’s happy. I have no point of reference, though, because this is my first dog. Maybe that’s just how dogs are :)
