Shio in Bed Bath and Beyond

Yesterday, I went to Bed Bath and Beyond to pick up a gift for a friend's housewarming party. I dragged Shio along with me to run errands on 5th and 6th avenue since he would have otherwise been bored at home. When I walked through the BB&B doors, the security guard said that in order for Shio to be in the store with me he needed to ride in the shopping cart. So.... into the cart Shio went.

Each time we walked down an aisle, there would be someone who wouldn't be able to resist a doggy sitting in a cart. Shio was very well behaved in the cart but he did try to jump out a couple of times (which was scary for me).

In the end, we were able to find the gift and run out of there in 25 min. It took 10 minutes to find and pay for the gift and 15 minutes of stopping time for people who wanted to say "Hi" to Shio.

Mission accomplished!

Shio vs. Bed

Shopping for a new bed for Shio ended up being a big deal. We went to multiple pet stores, looked online, and tried very hard to figure out 1) if Shio would like it 2) if the bed would fit nicely into our newly-reclaimed living room (now that Shio's crate is no longer taking up half the space).

In the end, we went with a West Paw dog bed; we were happy with the design, and happy with the fact that it used recycled bottles.

Unfortunately, Shio is not exactly loving the bed just yet. Right now, he is still investigating what it is, and how he should destroy it. We are also trying to figure out where to put the bed so that he will naturally associate the bed with resting...

If only Shio knew how much time we spent picking this thing out...
